The Senator representing Osun East, Prince Francis Adenigba Fadahunsi has proffered the arrest of local collaborators or pathfinders as antidote to invading kidnappers terrorizing the area.

Speaking at the 2019 Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC) week in Osogbo, the Osun State capital on Thursday, Sen. Fadahunsi who was the Chairman of the occasion in his paper on kidnapping and banditry delivered disclosed that the herdsmen and bandits carry out their nefarious acts through conspiracy with the indigenes of the host community whom he described as pathfinders.

Asking rhetorically that how can a stranger know ones vicinity and or village than an indigene? He concluded that it is the collaboration of the local youths with inordinate ambition of getting rich quick that has been responsible to the foreign herdsmen and bandits kidnapping taking place in the zone.

Fadahunsi, an Assistant Comptroller General of Customs (retd) added that the traditional rulers also must be discrete in the sales if land and tame their appetite for material things that encourages the indiscriminate sales of lands to strangers who could be agents of criminals.

He advocate community policing because the citizens or residents know the terrains more than the police. They can therefore assist both in prevention and crime fighting.

He also called on the Federal Government to equip and motivate the police in order to make them do the work with joy and ease.
