Ajimobi inaugurates Oyo newly elected LG chairmen

Oyo state governor, Senator Abiola Ajimobi, on Monday, inaugurated the newly elected Local Government Chairmen elected in the last Saturday local government election in the state.

At the swearing-in held at the House of Chiefs Secretariat Ibadan, were the Secretary to the State Government, Alhaji Olalekan Alli, Chief of Staff, Dr. Gbade Ojo, members, House of Representatives Hon, Akeem Adeyemi and Hon. Saheed Fijabi.

Chief Justice of the state, Justice Munta Abimbola administered the oath office on the newly elected council Chairmen.

Governor Ajimobi while speaking urged members of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), and others in the state to cooperate with his adminstration in repositioning the state.

He said that the successful conduct of the local government election has proved again that his adminstration is loved by the people of the state.

Ajimobi said: “Similarly, the successful conduct of the local government election was free and fair and that has demonstrated the belief of the people in this administration.

“Your victory at the election should be seen and understood as a great call to service. Your leadership must also reflect the people oriented policies of our administration. You must also know that your overwhelming votes is a testimony of our acceptance by the people.

“For those who did not partake in the election, we are not perturbed. Your victory has placed a great task on your shoulder to serve humanity. Let me also use this opportunity to appeal to all members and others to support this adminstration in repositioning Oyo state.

“Politics is full of disagreement but you must be humble in your in victory. We are not politicians on pages of newspapers, we are not politicians on TV.

“All those who are fighting us, there is no one who who has not benefited from this adminstration. If they say they are former this former that, they got the title from this present government. And you will remember that there is no battle, there is no war that we have not won”, the governor said.
