Niger Tornadoes football club of Minna as part of effort to keep the players in top shape by engaging in football friendlies, arrived Kontagora Monday, to keep a date with Ibrahim Sarki Sudan ISS Football Club and Kontagora Gov’s Cup team.
On arrival the team proceeded to the palace of Emir of Kontagora Alhaji Saidu Namaska to pay royal homage and seek blessings.
Speaking, Leader of delegation and Vice Chairman Niger Tornadoes football club Alh. Musa Matane said the team decided to visit Kontagora to play the two friendly matches in a way of keeping the players match fit in anticipation of the resumption/continuation of the NNL season.
Convaying the message of His Royal Highness, the Secretary Kontagora Emirate Football Council Alh. Abdullahi Musa, commended the management of the team for approving the Friendly matches, saying, its a way of identifying with the people of Kontagora especially the Youths who are looking to find a trade in the round leather game.
He then use the medium to solicit for more inclusion of players from the locality into the team.
Responding, the Technical Adviser of Niger Tornadoes football club, Abubakar Bala Mohammed said, the Club Chairman Hon. Adamu Aliyu in his magnanimity approved the purchase of training kits as donation to the two local teams, saying presently the team parades two players of Kontagora descent and would look forward to adding more.
Prayers were offered for the team to have a glorious outing in all competitions this season.
Thereafter, the team visited the family house of Niger Tornadoes Goalkeeper Labaran Aski to condole with the family over the loss of his mother recently.
Niger Tornadoes shall this evening trade tackles with ISS football club by 4pm at the Col. Sani Bello Stadium in Kontagora and engage Kontagora Gov’s Cup team by 8am tomorrow at the same venue.
