The House of Assembly election conducted on Saturday, March 9, 2019 across Osun State was mared by low out of voters.
The two leading political parties in the state- All Progressives Congress (APC) and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) decried the low turnout of voters at the election.
They said the turnout of voters was not impressive when compared to the turn out during the Presidential and National Assembly elections two werks ago.
Mr Soji Adagunodo, the Osun PDP Chairman said the turnout of voters was not impressive when compared to the National and Presidential election in the state.
Adagunodo , who spoke with news in his home town in Ilowa in Obokun Local Government Area of the state, said the voters’ aparty might be due to the fact that there was no governorship election in the state.
“The turnout of voters is very low. Although it is normal since there is no governorship election in the state.
“But all the same , the turnout of voters is still reasonable”, Adagunodo said.
The PDP chairman, however, commended the electorate for their peaceful conduct.
Adagunodo said notwithstanding the low turnout of voters, the party would win majority seats in the assembly.
Also speaking, Mr Diran Odeyemi, the Deputy PDP National Publicity Secretary said the turnout of voters was not impressive.
Odeyemi , who spoke to newsmen at his unit 2, ward 1 in Ibokun town said the turn out of voters was not impressive.
He said due to the poor turn of voters , the election atmosphere was dull.
Odeyemi, who noted that the low turnout might be due to the fact there was no governorship election in the state, said the party was sure of victory.
There was low turn out of voters across the state during the election.
