FG approves Waste Recycling Plant for Nasarawa

The Federal Government has approved the sitting of a Waste Recycling Plant in Nasarawa state.

That State Commissioner for Environment and Natural Resources, Musa Ibrahim Abubakar, made the disclosure last Weekend in Lafia, during an interview shortly after the Monthly Sanitation Exercise.

According to him the Federal Government has approved the establishment of the Waste Recycling Plant which will be located at Angwan Rere, a Community close to Lafia, the State Capital, adding that the step upon its full implementation would further contribute to make the state a clean place.
He explained that his Ministry will work closely with the proposed Company to ensure that only items that would be of benefit to the people are produced from the recycled waste produce.

On the Monthly sanitation exercise, the Commissioner who expressed satisfaction with the level of compliance, commended the State Governor, Abdullahi Sule for reintroducing the exercise in the State.

According to him the exercise has helped to reduce the rate of infectious diseases in the State.

On his part, the Chief Prosecuting Officer of the Sanitation Agency, Alhaji Abubakar Muhammed said 32 people were arrested and prosecuted last Weekend for violating the sanitation Laws.
According to him 27 vehicles and tricycles were also impounded.

He said not less than 86 Environmental Health Officers took part in the exercise by moving from house to house to see the level of compliance.

He assured that the Agency will continue to sensitize the people on the need to keep their environments clean.
