Kwara Correspondents’ of NUJ to hold public lecture/awardsa

The Correspondents’ Chapel of Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Kwara State council is set to hold a lecture series and award ceremony on Thursday February 27th, 2020 at the NUJ press Center along Offa road, Ilorin by 10.am .

According to a press statement issued by the Chapel’s Chairman and Secretary Abdulhakeem Garba and Kayode Abdulazeez respectively, the event is tagged AWARD OF EXCELLENCE.

In the one day long ceremonies, there will be an award event in different categories for deserved members by 4pm, while former Minister of Sports and Youths Development Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi will give a keynote address with the topic,”New journalism: Traditional Ethics Versus Modern Professionalism.’

Meanwhile Senator Sirajudeen Ajibola Basiru representing Osun Central Senatorial District in the National Assembly will deliver a lecture proper, titled “Democracy and the Rule of law” during the morning event by 10 am.

The statement noted that in the afternoon by 4pm there will also be award of recognition ceremony to the Deputy National Publicity Secretary of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Prince Mackson Oladiran Odeyemi and another Chieftain of the All Progressive Congress (APC)in kwara state Alhaji Yakubu Olayiwola Gobir at the same venue.
