Nasarawa state has recorded 16 Fire incidents in the last three Months.
The state Chief Fire Officer, Alhaji Dalhatu Dogara, disclosed this during an interview in Lafia, the state Capital.
According to him a total of 20 distressed calls were received within the period under reviewed, adding that out of the 16 fire cases, a life was lost and the Organization was able to save two lives.
Dogara who explained that properties worth Millions of Naira was destroyed by fire during the period, said his men were able to rescued Properties worth over One Billion Naira from been destroyed by fire.
He said fire incidents in the state in the third quarter of the Year was minimal compared to the first and second quarters due to the rainy session.
Dogara who cautioned residents of the state to be conscious of things that would lead to fire outbreak as we approaches the dry season, called on them to always cooperate with fire service personnel whenever their service is needed.
While appreciating the state Government for its supportive roles, the Chief Fire Officer want more manpower and working equipment be provided for the organization, as the current number of personnel and equipment are inadequate to cover the 13 Local Government Councils of the State.
