House of Assembly to investigate Niger State expenditure.

Legislators of Niger State House of Assembly has constituted a seven man ad-hoc Committee to investigate the state government’s expenditure.

The Committee’s mandate include Federal allocation accruing to the state as well as its Internally Generated Revenue IGR for the state .

Hon. Abdulmalik Madaki representing Bosso constituency moved the motion of urgent public importance and the committee was constituted during the house sitting at the Assembly Complex, on Thursday.

According to the law maker expenditure of Niger state government for the past one year has not been carried out in accordance with appropriation law and that it was not transparent.

He however maintained that yearly estimate and expenditure by law had to be laid before the House of Assembly in accordance with provision of section 101 sub section one of constitution of Nigeria 1999 as amended.

Abdulmalik Madaki said this was never done and as elected officials they must be put to check for effective service delivery.
