Nasarawa state Police Commissioner, Bola Longe has tasked Journalists to partner the Command in its bid to cleanse criminal activities from the area.

The Police Commissioner made the appeal on Friday, when Leadership and other members of the Correspondents Chapel of the Nigeria Union of Journalists in the state paid him a Courtesy visit in Lafia.

Longe who expressed displeasure with some Media Organizations for under reporting achievements of the Police, said despite the inadequate number of members of the Force in the state, the command has made a lot of achievements.
“Myself and the management of this Command have tried, we have made achievements and we will continue to do our best to ensure that our people sleep with their two eyes close, we want you to showcase what we are doing”.

According to him the Command has less than 5000 officers and that has made it impossible for his men to be everywhere at the same time.

The police boss who disclosed that the command has strategically mapped out new strategies to fight crime, charged Journalists in the state to use the instrument of their callings to support the police in the fight against crime.

Longe who commended the state Government for supporting the police with a befitting structure that is housing the command headquarter, promised to have a good working relationship with members of the Correspondents Chapel in the state.

Earlier, Chairman of the Chapel, Suleiman Abubakar, who said the visit was aimed cementing the working relationship between members of the chapel and the Police, commended the commissioner for the effort his men have made towards addressing insecurity and other crimes in the state.

He assured the Police boss that members of the Chapel will continue to support him to enable him achieve set objectives.
