Nasarawa state government, through the Board of Vocational and Relevant Technology, has commenced the manufacturing of ventilator machines to address the demand for the instrument in the Country.
General Manager of the Board, Dr. Idris Umaru Idris, disclosed this during an interview in Lafia, the state Capital.
Dr. Idris explained that a sample of the machine has already been manufactured and scrutinized twice by the Ministry of Health.
According to him, upon its approval by the Federal Ministry of Health, the Board would start manufacturing of large number of the Machine for the Nigeria market.
He said the intention of the Board is to make the equipment assessable to those who may be in need and at an affordable price, adding that a single imported ventilator machine cost Millions of Naira.
The General Manager who stated further that the Board has contributed in diverse ways towards the fight against Coronavirus, through the production of Facemasks, hand washing equipment and sanitizer, said the Organization will continue to abide by its mandate of training youths in skill acquisition to enable them be self reliance.
Dr. Idris assured that management of the Board will do her best to assist the state government boost its revenue base.
He advised youths in the state to take advantage of the available training programmes in the Board and acquire skills that will make them self reliance, instead of waiting for white colour jobs that are no where to be found.
