Gov. Sule suspends management of the State college of Education.

Nasarawa State Governor, Abdullahi Sule, has approved the suspension of the Management of the State owned Collage of Education, Akwanga.

The outgoing Management team has been led by Dr. Rebecca Umaru as Provost.

The suspension order was contained in a statement signed by the Secretary to that State Government, Tijjani Ahmed which was made available to Newsmen on Friday in Lafia.

The statement indicated that the governing Council of the institution which has been in place for some time now has also been relieved of their assignment.

In the statement, the governor directed the Provost of the College, Registrar, Bursar as well as the Desk officer in charge of TETFUND in the institution to go on compulsory leave with immediate effect.

Meanwhile, the Governor has approved the appointment of a former Commissioner of Health in the State, Dr Roseline Kela as an Interim Administrator of the Collage for a period of six months.

Similarly, the governor has approved the appointment of an educationist Mrs Jiriko Ruth as the Acting Rector of the state owned Polytechnic “Isa Mustapha Agwai” Polytechnic, Lafia. Before now, the Polytechnic was also under the leadership of an Acting Rector and Registrar.

In another development, the management of the state owned team in the Nigeria Professional league, Nasarawa Utd has been sacked by the state Governor.

The new leadership includes, a former Chairman of the Club, Isaac Danladi as Chairman, Rengo Jaafaru, Nuhu Jinka, Rilwanu ldiris as members while Solomon Babanja is to serve as the team Manager.

It would be recalled that the sacked Chairman of the Club, Abdullahi Osanga was appointed some time last year and since the assumption in Office of the outgoing leadership, the Club has continued to experience poor performance.

It is currently at the bottom of the league table.
