FuLafia set to honour five Nigerians with Doctorate Degrees

The Management of Federal University of Lafia, (FULafia) will at this weekend bestow an Honorary Doctorate Degrees on five Nigerians during the forth coming combine convocation of the Institution.

Vice – Chancellor of the University, Professor Muhammad Sanusi Liman disclosed this during a Media briefing at the Institution’s permanent site in Lafia, the Nasarawa State Capital.

Liman who explained that the proposed five recipients of the Institution’s Award was based on their individual contributions to University since its Establishment in 2011, during the President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan’ led administration.

According to him the immediate past Governor of the State, Senator Umaru Tanko Almakura, the Late Emir of Lafia Mustapha Agwei, Sheikh Dahiru Usman Bauchi, Ambassador Ahmed El-gazali and the President of Tijjaniyya in Africa, Sheikh Isiaku Rabiu are those to be honored with Honorary Doctorate degrees in different areas of human endeavor.

The Vice – Chancellor who pointed out that he took over the leadership of the Institution from a highly experienced person who served as the pioneer head of the University, said his administration has been able to make some achievements mostly in the areas of infrastructural development, academic and increase in staff strength.
According to him, he was able to do that which he has done due to the Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) of the Institution and its judicious usage.

He promised to sustain the tempo base on the financial availability.
