President Muhammade Buhari has declared that any opposition to the newly introduced salary system known as IPPIS will be treated as economic sabotage.
The president made this declaration in his address to the 29th Convocation ceremony of the Federal University of Technology, Minna on Saturday.
Represented by the Minister of Communication and Digital Economy, Dr. Issa Ali Pantmi, President Buhari reiterated that the decision of the IPPIS was inreseravable
A total of 4,502 students were conferred with First Degrees, Post Graduate Diplomas, Higher Degrees and other prizes.
At the 2018/2019, 57 graduands bagged fist class or 2% , 926 Second Class Upper, while a total of 1733 or 48% made it to second class lower. Third class was 836 r 23% ,
Ogunfolaji Yusuf Oluwasegun, an orphan of the department of Civil Engineering in the school of infrastructure and Process Engineering Technology was the overall best graduating students in the year 2018/2019 academic session with a CGPA of 4.82.
In the same vein the university withdrew a total of 169 students for various reasons ranging from poor academic performance, misconduct and abandonment.
Earlier, at the convocation lecture, the Federal Government says it has saved twenty four billion naira (N24billion) through the implementation of Treasury Single Account (TSA).
Minister of Communication and Digital Economy Dr Isa Ali Pantami made this disclosure at the Twenty Nineth convocation lecture of Federal University of Technology Minna Niger state.
Dr Isa Ali Pantami explained that the Treasury Single Account TSA is introduced by the Federal Government to among other things minimise to the bearest minimal problem of corruption in Nigeria and set record straight.
According to the Communication and Digital Economy Minister through the implementation of IPPIS system in Nigeria a total of sixty thousand ghost workers have been detected in government pay roll.
He said President Muhammadu Buhari review the activity of Communication and Digital Econmy in order to achieve the aim of National digital economy policy and strategy for digital Nigeria inline with global best practices.
Dr Isa Ali Pantami however expressed optimism that with datification society and individual gain more in the execution of their day to day activities.
The convocation lecture which was delivered by Dr Isa Ali Pantami is titled datification of society economic and security issues in producing and using public and private data in Nigeria.
