Amidst COVID-19: Niger State Government awards N1.6billion road dualization contract.

Despite the economics turn down of the current battle of the coronavirus pandemic, Niger state Executive Council has gone ahead to approve the dualization of a 2.4 kilometer road at the sum of N1.6billion.

The contract from Tunga roundabout to Imani junction was awarded amidst the coronavirus pandemic to be completed within the period of 18 months dry duration.

State Commissioner in charge of Works Ministry , Engr. Ibrahim Ahmed Panti who made this known yesterday at government house Minna said it was part of the decisions reached at the Executive Council meeting held on Weds day.

The Commissioner while briefing the press after the state executive council meeting stated that the council also considered other memos presented to the council and gave its nud.

He stated that the council has approved the award of contract for the dualization of 2.4kilometers Tunga round about to Imani hospital at the sum of N1.286,121,082 to Soject Nigeria Ltd.

Also, the council has approved the contract of 6 number roads in Kontagora at the cost of over N300 million added to the existing ongoing contracts of over N700 million bringing to the total of N1.035,852,486, 20k in the town.

Engr. Panti however added that the state government is considering the renovation of the entire state secretariat complex hence the bill of quantity to be submitted for consideration of the work soon next.
