Niger State Government seeks support of the Nigerian Air Force to tackle banditry attacks.

Governor Abubakar Sani Bello of Niger State has advocated a more coordinated approach by security agencies especially the Nigerian Air Force to check the security challenges confronting the state and the country in general.

He made the suggestion when he visited the Chief Air Staff,Air Marshall Sadiq Baba in Abuja.

He emphasised the need for a renewed mode of operation to dislodge the armed bandits which have been causing untold hardship to some communities and villages.

“In the past few months,our state has been faced with security challenges with the influx of armed bandits suspected to have flee from zamfara and other neighboring states.This problem is beyond the state government.”

This visit is to solicit your assistance to penetrate the large Forests across the state. We have more than one thousand IDPs and we are deeply concerned that if nothing is done to enable them return to their houses, health challenges will set in.”

Governor Bello appreciated the Nigerian Air Force for its regular support towards maintaining law and order in the state.

The Chief of Air Staff,Air Marshall, Sadiq Baba Abubakar assured that the force would take immediate steps to address the issue with the use of its quick response team in Minna.

“We do not require any logistical support from the state government,all we require is intelligence to enable us tackle the menace.”

He assured Governor Sani Bello of the Air Force Support at all times to ensure a steady and secured state .
