NSDC arrests a man that plots to sell child at N5Million in Nasarawa

Personnel of Nasarawa state Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has arrested a middle aged Man Ayuba John for trying to sell off his biological son for Five Million Naira.

The 42 years old Ayuba John, who hails from Gidiye, in Jenkwe Development Area of Obi Local Government Council was apprehended on Tuesday at the GSM Village in Lafia, the State Capital.

Parading the suspect before Newsmen on Thursday at the Command Headquarter, the State Commandant of NSCDC, Muhammed Mahmud Fari said his men disguised as the buyers after receiving information from someone that the Culprit wanted to sell his own three years old Child Solomon John and arrested him at the point of collection of the money.

“My men disguised as the buyers and after due arrangement, the man was asked whether he would like to be paid in cheque or cash but was demanded to be paid in cash, it was at that point my men now told him to come with the Child and a container to carry the money and he came with the child and rubber bag with the intention to take the cash, it was then my men now identified themselves and took him to the command”

According to him, preliminary investigation has shown that the Culprit who was married to five wives and 25 Children has before now divorced one of the wives who incidentally is the mother to the child he wanted to sell off.
Fari also stated that the Culprit has already sold one his daughters before the current incident that led to his arrest. He promised that the command on completion of her investigation will charge the Culprit to Court to enable him face the Laws of the land.

The Culprit, Ayuba John who denied committing such crime in the past, however admitted that he was tempted to do it so as to raise his financial stand.

Our correspondent reports that a 45 years old man who was accused of raping a 10 old Girl was also paraded along side the alleged Child trafficker.
