The Nasarawa state Police command has apprehended those responsible for kidnapping the Village Head of Hunki in Awe Local Government Council, Alhaji Umaru Jibrin.
The Village Head was recently kidnapped but later released by his abductors after payment of Six Hundred Thousand Naira Ransom.
Parading the kidnappers, along side other suspects at the Command Headquarter in Lafia, the Commissioner of Police in the state, Bola Longe, said the suspects were arrested following a tip off from members of the public.
The Commissioner who gave names of the suspects to include, Musa Adamu, Umaru Muhammed, Nuhu Muhammed and Hassan Zakari, said they were both arrested at Awe, the headquarter of Awe Local Government Council.
Bola Longe who revealed that the command has also arrested four other armed robbery suspects who have been terrorising some communities, said they were apprehended along Toto- Abaji road as well as Umaisha in Toto Local Government Council of the state.
According to the Police Boss, two AK 49 Rifles, one Locally made single Barrel Gun, three hundred and nineteen (319) 7.62mm, 29 Cartridges and 11 SIM cards of different service providers were recovered from the suspects.
Longe who reiterated the command determination to reduce crime in the state to the bearest minimum, advised people with criminal tendencies to relocate from the state, adding that the command is adopting a new strategy to fish out criminals wherever they may be hiding.
He called on people of the state to always give useful information to police about criminal activities in their domain.
It would be recalled that the Bola Longe led Police Command on July this Year paraded 58 suspects, including a notorious kidnapper, members of different cult groups and Armed robbers.
