Obaagun to celebrate the first Afaigun n’pemi in grand style- Barr. Olowolagba

The first edition of socio cultural event tagged Afaigun n’pemi will hold next week Monday at the palace square in Obaagun.

Afaigun is the name of the progenitor of the ancient community and the event will afford the sons and daughters of the community opportunity to come together to socialize and project the town for development.

Speaking on the rationale behind the event, the National President of Obaagun Development Union (ODU), Barrister Kayode olowolagba said the socio cultural celebration was aimed at championing a new course for development of the ancient community.

Barrister Olowolagba noted that the event would provide platform for social clubs to interact and discuss on prospects and challenges facing the community.

The ODU national president explained that the event which wiil serve as replica of ojude oba in ijebu ode would create an avenue for the ancient community to showcase it cultural endowment to the world.

He noted that olobagun of Obaagun,Oba Jimoh Adebisi okunade,kayode the second who is the royal father of the day would be on ground to shower royal blessing on sons and daughters of the community.

Barrister Olowogba however hinted that the event would also be used to identify some sons and daughters of the town who are endowed with talents so as to project them bigger opportunity.

Highlight of the event include special prayers, display by different cultural groups, procession of different social clubs before olobagun in council for exchange of pleasantries and royal blessings.
